When I first got my husky puppy he used purina puppy chow, he had the runs for a little bit until I switched him over to this! he absolutely loves this food he basically runs me over to get it?! definitely recommend for sensitive tummy puppies! My puppy has been eating Wellness brand food for months and he loves it. I make the food even more desirable by adding fresh chicken or beef as a topper. My dog loves it.I have tried about 5 brands of grain free puppy food since my maltese is allergic to grain filled food and haven't had much luck. This food actually smells good, and he loves the taste of it! He finished his plate immediately. Plus this food contains Taurine for heart health which is great, since most grain free food doesn't contain this important ingredient but Wellness does! Happy puppy = Happy mom! This food is AMAZING!!! I rescued two puppies (Boxer/Lab) two days apart (that was an accident I assure you), but they were both sickly, one more so than the other. The first we rescued had digestive issues. They had been feeding her very cheap food. She had bathroom issues... It wasn't pretty - we will leave it at that. Her skin was dry and her coat wasn't very soft and the shedding. OH the shedding! The other puppy showed up two days later wrapped in a towel weighing 2 pounds! She really shouldn't have been away from her mom at this point but woe is me. She was so skinny you could see every bone in her little body. She had a huge pot belly from worms, and the amount of bite marks on her was so sad... She had bald spots and scabs all over.We did a bit of research on different foods and this one stood out. We wanted a grain free food that was also high in protien. We started them on it right away. We did not switch them slowly as it is recommended. Partly because we didn't want to pay for that cheap food, and partly because of the urgency of nutrition needs of the smaller one. They have been on this food for two months now, and bazinga! No more shedding, no more bathroom issues, no more bald spots, no more scabs, no more sick puppies! Our vet asked us which food we chose because he was so impressed with the results. Everyone that sees them says how awesome they look compared to when we rescued them. They are both now in their ideal weight ranges, and perfect check ups every time now.The older one has cholitis, and has no problems with this food. The little one couldn't eat hard food when we got her, we added just a tad of water to soften it and it worked perfectly. The bag is resealable. We have fed this to our pup for about a year now and we have been nothing but pleased with the results. Health checkups have always been excellent and he enjoys the food. Though every dog is different I will explain our personal experience with our Male Australian Cattle Dog.-First of all, the quantity of food. We usually went through about a bag every two months. Our pup was for the most part self feeding. We would put out the recommended portion given on the bag, and he would eat it throughout the day. He seemed to be filled up quickly by it and that was awesome because I feel it was hard for him to over eat. He digested it very well and had a very regular schedule.-He loved the food. For the first 4 months that we had him, we used nothing but the bits of dog food as incentive and treats for training. It was great because it was feeding him within his daily amount and it was portioned perfectly.-He is now 1 year old and is healthy, active, and strong. One thing that is super noticeable is that his fur is still incredibly smooth and soft despite him blowing his puppy coat. His nails are very strong and aren't brittle as well.-The only thing that could be considered a "con" is the pretty much ever present flatulence. This is a normal and expected effect of the digestion grain free diets. Though potent, we can live with it...Overall, I highly recommend this food. I have not tried the other flavors, however soon we will be transitioning to and adult diet and may experiment. I can vouch for the puppy formula 100%. Though expensive, you end up buying less and getting a whole lot more. This is about as good as you can get for dry food. I am a fan of raw feeding but compromised to this for our puppy. My hubby wanted to feed dry for convenience. I still can not give this 5 stars though simply because it is dry food. I supplement with extra meat to make up for all the potato in this food.It does not make my dog sick, his shedding is reduced compared to the rice based foods, and gas / smelly stools is reduced. I also think she is itching less than on the rice based food we got with her.For those who complain about gas or loose stools please consider taking away all edible treats like bully sticks raw hide cow and pig ears etc.We thought this was starting to give her gas but it turned out that we had gotten her a bully stick. She was only eating a tiny bit of it every day but apparently it was enough to give her gas and slightly loose stools. I nearly changed foods to something else because of it but the tiny bit of bully stick was the problem. So when you are having digestive issues with any food first eliminate any treats as the possible culprit.. It took 2 to 3 days for the problem to go away after stopping all treats.Too expensive, I don’t know the quality since this is for dogs.REVIEW: 26 pound bag of Puppy kibble (flavor 5).When we adopted our puppy, I wanted the best. Merrick came up on the radar first but my wife balked at the price. Then I discovered Wellness and all my research showed it to be a top brand, rated 5 stars, and almost half the price of Merrick. In fact, the 26 pound bag is cheaper via Amazon than at my local pet superstore. I now subscribe to regular monthly delivery. When under the breeder's care, my puppy Zuzu ate IAMS (reviews are 3-star, not bad, not great) which is sometimes described as the "sugar cereal" of dog food. I was concerned about the transition and mapped out a gradual mixing plan. Zuzu proved me wrong and was eating pure Wellness by day 3 and now refuses to touch the old food. She absolutely loves it! The health benefits are tremendous and the ingredients are top notch with no fillers. It is an excellent protein source. The kibbles are shaped in small, round pieces and are very easy for her to pick up, chew and swallow. The bag is resealable and so far one 26 pound bag lasts us the month, but she is growing fast so that will likely change. One aspect I like is that the kibble doesn't have a strong odor; it is a pleasant, lighter smell than most other kibbles. I like that Wellness has a transition plan for moving from puppy phase to adult dog phase. What I say in this review is meaningless; it comes down to what Zuzu thinks, and she gives it two paws up. :) In the picture below she has just come in from a run in the snow and went straight to her food dish for lunch!Switched to this after Acana branded food gave my puppy 4 straight weeks of diarrhea (it was as aweful as it sounds). Once I realized the food was not agreeing with him I switched him over to plain rice, and then started mixing this in over a few weeks. So far it has worked out great, we’re 2 bags deep and he hasn’t been having any more bowel issues :) it’s a bit more expensive, but it’s well worth not having to deal with that crap (literally).Liked the hype that it's the best food for dogs. But my puppy half German Sheppard and half blue heeler did not like it at all. It caused bad diarrhoea and he refuses to eat it would rather spit up yellow bile and eat grass. Something is wrong here. DO NOT FOLLOW THE BS HYPE JUST DONT BUY.I have an Ausky and she seems to like the food. The packaging is nice and I love that the bag is resealable. It also has a lower odor than some dog foods that I have tried which is nice so my entire pantry doesn't smell like dog food. It also seems to be helping to maintain a nice shiny coat on my dog. My dog will have times when she just completely ignores the food though. We have a dachshund dog and we looked up many dog brands before purchasing this product. It is excellent quality. My dog loves it,and she has been on it for the past few years. I would highly recommend this dog food,.
